James Roach is a Bronx-born actor and recording artist whose work is defined by presence, depth, and versatility.


His artistic path was shaped early on through a referral from the late Michael K. Williams, leading him to train under renowned acting coach Melvin Williams. This foundation sharpened his craft and established him as a compelling force across stage and screen.


Roach has delivered powerful performances in a range of theater productions at New York City’s The Producers Club, including Forty Minute Finish, The Ferris Wheel, Lean On Me, Habeas Corpus, The Hearing Aid, Guys, and The Flautist. His work reflects a grounded intensity and emotional precision that resonates with audiences. On screen, he has appeared in the Netflix feature Naz & Maalik, along with independent films such as Liberation of a Fish, Jack of Hearts, and the upcoming Restoration.


Beyond acting, Roach is also known as “Sir James,” a multi-genre recording artist whose sound spans country, R&B, soul, neo-soul, hip-hop/R&B, pop, and house music. His songwriting is deeply personal, rooted in authenticity, and driven by a strong emotional connection to his audience.
